Mel... Twirling
Mel Bruce, a member of Long Marston Ladies, surprised the group with her hidden talent of twirling.
No one guessed she was once world champion of baton twirling.
This was a popular sport in Mels home country of Scotland, not so much here south of the border.
Mel and her mum hand stitched beads to her leotards making a beautiful competition costume.
Mel traveled to America to hone the skills and won many trophies.She gave us a demonstration making it all look very easy, despite not being so !
